As a therapist, I enjoy helping others to achieve happiness and satisfaction within their personal and everyday lives. I provide clients with a safe environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. Together clients and I establish and achieve their therapeutic goals.
My counseling approach is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is solution focused. Counseling sessions are geared towards helping clients gain insight and awareness to lead healthier lives.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified School Counselor, and Certified Math Teacher. I received my Bachelors degree in Mathematics at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Masters in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman's University. I began my professional experience as a middle school and high school math teacher. I have 15 years of educational experience and have worked extensively in a variety of settings, including school districts and private practices. I've also provided services for DFPS for foster families, adoptions, and family court.
My love for fitness helped me find my passion for massage. I have been seeing my massage therapist for years to help me with all of my health issues. I now use my knowledge in fitness and massage to help my clients. I attended massage school at Sterling Health Center and I am a Medical Massage Practitioner (MMP) that uses a number of techniques to help clients with their health issues. I've also had 20+ years of experiences as a personal trainer. I'm also a former educator working with Head Start and Kindergarten students.
I have a holistic fitness approach. I offer a very unique approach to exercise with a heavy emphasis on correcting the entire body, not just aesthetics. I believe that focusing on looking better doesn’t always make you FEEL better- but by helping my clients feel better, looking better comes as a natural side effect.
